TapGuide Service

What is TapGuide?

TapGuide has two parts:


- TapGuide card — a counter card with NFC and QR code.
- TapGuide page — a simple web page with helpful info for visitors.


Visitors tap or scan, and the page opens—no app, no typing.

Who is TapGuide for?

People who work in visitor-facing locations and want to communicate clearly with international visitors. It also helps visitors feel welcome and informed.

Can I use my own link instead of a TapGuide page?

Yes. I can program the card to open your URL.

How long does delivery take?

Cards: usually a few days. Pages: about a week after details are confirmed.

Is TapGuide secure?

Yes. TapGuide is hosted on a secure server, and all forms use SSL for safety.

Does TapGuide collect visitor data?

No.

Payment & Terms

How do I pay for TapGuide?

After you approve your TapGuide cards and pages, an invoice will be sent. Payment is by bank transfer within 7 days.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Refunds are rare because invoicing happens after approval, but if you’re not satisfied, we’ll discuss it.

Where can I see TapGuide pricing?

Plans and pricing are listed on the pricing page.

Are there any extra costs?

The price includes card, page setup, and hosting. Custom work may cost extra—confirmed before starting.

TapGuide Cards

What is a TapGuide card?

A counter card with NFC and QR code that visitors can tap or scan to open a TapGuide page. Each card comes with a low-angle stand for easy use.

What does a TapGuide card include?

Each card has three parts:

  • Top: NFC Wayfinding Mark and tap prompt.

  • Middle: QR code fallback.

  • Bottom: Branding band for your logo or identity.

Do cards need the NFC Wayfinding mark?

Yes. It shows visitors where to tap.

What size and shape is a TapGuide card?

Standard cards are 130 mm tall, 70 mm wide, and 3 mm thick. Custom sizes and shapes are possible—please ask.

Do cards include stands?

Yes. All standard cards come with a low-angle stand.

Can I request a custom card design?

Yes. You can customize:

- Colors for each band
- Text in the tap prompt
- Logo in the branding band

Can multiple cards link to the same page?

Yes. Any number of cards can link to one page.

Can multiple cards link to multiple pages?

Yes. Any combination is possible. You can link different TapGuide cards to different TapGuide pages, or mix and match as needed.

Why won’t my card tap?

Make sure NFC is turned on.

- iPhone: tap the top/back edge near the mark.
- Android: tap the middle/back near the mark.

If NFC isn’t supported, scan the QR code instead.

TapGuide Pages

What does a TapGuide page include?

A TapGuide page includes:


- Language switcher (English and Japanese)
- Brand band for your logo or image
- Intro band with headline and short message
- Content area for text, images, lists, videos, and an optional form

Can I update my page?

Yes. Just let me know and I’ll update your page quickly.

Can I request a custom page design?

Yes. You can customize:

- Brand band background and image
- Intro band background and text color
- Heading colors in content area

Can I have multiple languages?

English and Japanese are standard. If you don’t need Japanese, English will show in both. Other languages may be possible later—please ask.

Do I own the page?

Pages are hosted while you use TapGuide. If you stop, your content will be provided for your own use.

Can I have a form on my TapGuide Page?

Yes. Standard Plan includes one form per page, placed at the bottom.

Can my form results be sent to me?

Yes. Results can be sent to one or multiple email addresses.

Visitor Phones

Do visitors need an app to use TapGuide?

No. TapGuide works without an app. When visitors tap or scan the card, the page opens in their browser.

What if tapping doesn’t work?

Every card includes a QR fallback.

Is there a difference between Android and iPhone?

Yes.

  • iPhone: NFC works on iPhone 7 and later. The screen must be unlocked.

  • Android: NFC is usually on by default.

Where should I tap on the phone?
  • iPhone: tap the top back near the camera.

  • Android: tap the middle back.

If NFC is off or not supported, scan the QR code instead.

Do all phones support NFC?

Most modern phones do. If NFC isn’t supported or is turned off, visitors can always use the QR code.
